Overview

In 2001, J.Rimann published four flags of Georgian Border Forces.

The flags of the Border Forces were adopted by President E.Shevardnadze's Decree No 507 (August, 25, 1999).

The emblem in the centre of the flags is the arms of the Border Forces. That ideogram has been known since Ist-Iind centuries. That symbol was shown on ancient Georgian coins and border stones, now kept in the Georgian State Museum.

In the two first flags shown below, the ideogram is encircled with 52 sunbeams, symbolizing year`s week cycle.
